RRC Western Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – 5349 Act Apprentice Posts
The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Western Railway has released the official notification for Apprentice Recruitment 2026. This recruitment drive offers 5349 Act Apprentice vacancies across multiple trades and railway divisions. Candidates who have completed 10th class with ITI qualification in the relevant trade are eligible to apply.
The online application process started on 21 February 2026 and will continue until 23 March 2026. The engagement is for apprenticeship training under various technical trades, providing hands-on experience within Western Railway units. Selection will be based purely on a merit list prepared from Matriculation and ITI marks.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th class) under the 10+2 examination system with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
- Applicants must also possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
- The ITI qualification must correspond to the trade for which the candidate is applying, such as Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Carpenter, Diesel Mechanic, COPA, Electronics Mechanic, Wireman, Draftsman (Civil), Plumber, Turner, Machinist and other listed trades.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 15 Years
- Maximum Age: 24 Years
Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules:
- SC / ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwD: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per Railway rules.

Selection Process
- Selection will be based on a merit list prepared from the average percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation and the ITI examination.
- Both qualifications will carry equal weightage while preparing the merit list.
- If two candidates have the same marks, preference will be given to the older candidate.
- No written examination or interview will be conducted.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and medical fitness check.
Salary / Stipend
Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for a period of one year and will receive a stipend as per the prevailing rules and directives issued by the Railway Board for apprentices during the training period.
